Dr. Kamal K. Dutta is the founder Chairman of Ruby General Hospital. This is the first Non-Resident Indian doctor's hospitals in Eastern India. It was planned after following the best hospitals in the United States. Most of the instruments and technology have been imported from United States.

The Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Jyoti Basu inaugurated Ruby General Hospital on 25th April 1995. Mother Teresa opened the Cardiac Unit on 28th October 1995.

The motto of Ruby General Hospital is to give honest, caring, compassionate and economical care to the people of Eastern India. The consultants working at Ruby are the best with national repute. The quality of medical care is always monitored so that the patients are assured that medically necessary treatment is only being given to them. There is also a constant inflow of doctors from United States who bring the latest advances of treatment to the patients at Ruby Hospital.

Dr. Kamal K. Dutta, is also the Chairman cum Managing Director of Ruby General Hospital. He graduated from R.G. Kar Medical College in Calcutta and went to the United States in 1976. He is a Consultant Gynaecologist who is attached to the leading hospitals in New Jersey, USA. He was the Chairman of the Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at St. Mary's Hospital and also the Chairman at General Hospital Center in New Jersey, USA.

Dr. Dutta is a Diplomate of American Board of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and he was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons and also the Fellowship of American College of Gynaecologists.

He has also been awarded the highest degree for Hospital Management in the United States.

He has written numerous medical articles and published a book named "A Simple Guide to Birth ControL"

He lives in Calcutta and New Jersey, with his wife Ruby and children Tanya, Tia and Sourav.

Ruby General Hospital has a very well experienced and accomplished team of medical practitioners, technicians, nurses and other administrative staff. Ruby General Hospital has around 175 renowned Sr. Consultants of different specialties and around 50 In-house Doctors who are always available. Our Out Patient Services in 42 multi-specialties are available from 8 am to 8 pm.(Monday - Saturday) and 8 am-2 pm (on Sundays )

The Hospital has 4 Operation Theatres, 1 Cath Lab, CTVS, ITU, ICCU, NICU, Day Care Services, Radiology Services, Emergency Department, Pathology Services, round the clock ambulance, pharmacy and other diagnostic services. The hospital has a bed strength of 302 beds. In a span of around 17 years, the hospital has performed a variety of major surgeries & Cath Lab procedures, Cardio Thoracic Surgeries and other surgeries/procedures with a very high success rate. Every day around 150 to 200 patients avail of our Out Patient Services.

The Hospital is equipped with the latest generation equipment and technology. 24 hours Emergency, Trauma Care, Ambulance, Pathology, Pharmacy, Dialysis and Radiology services are available to all. All types of Pathology, Hematology, Biochemistry and a number of other Diagnostics/Investigations are done here. Around 40 beds have been exclusively dedicated for I.C.C.U. and I.T.U. to provide emergency and critical care to the patients. Maximum number of Trauma care cases are treated here with a high success rate.

There are around 42 multi-specialty departments under which the treatment is available, like Neurology, Orthopaedics, Cardiology, Oncology, Dermatology, Haematology, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Neonatal Care and Paediatrics, ENT, General Medicine, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Radiology, Dentistry and others.
